Shredder Warz is Hurricane Alley Waterpark’s signature surf simulator showdown, where riders compete head-to-head on the “Shredder” — our FlowRider Double surf simulator. This high-energy competition brings together local talent across three divisions: Youth, Bodyboard, and Stand-Up. Each competitor hits the wave to showcase their skills, style, and creativity in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

More than just a contest, Shredder Warz is a celebration of Corpus Christi’s surf culture — drawing in families, thrill-seekers, and waterpark fans alike. It’s one of the most electric days of the summer, whether you’re riding the wave or cheering from the sidelines.

Date and Time: 8/11/2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

What’s Happening: Our Annual Shredder (Flowrider Double: the original surf simulator) Competition! Let’s find out who's the best!

Competition Format- Three divisions (Youth, Body Board, and Stand Up) with two rounds: the open and the final.

The open round will give each contestant 30 seconds to ride. The judges will score, and the top 5 scores will move on to the final round. The riders who make it to the final will have 45 seconds in the final round.

Rules and Regulations:

All riders must be registered and complete the appropriate waiver before competing. Ages 13 -16 for the youth division & 16 and up for Bodyboard & Stand Up. The entry fee is $25 per person.

Judges will score each rider on a 1 to 10 scale (10 being the best), scoring will be based on:

  • Commitment and degree of difficulty

  • Innovative and progressive maneuvers

  • Combination of major maneuvers

  • Variety of maneuvers

  • Speed, power, and flow

Riders cannot wear hats or jewelry during the competition.

Prizes: We have 1st through 3rd place trophies for all divisions.

Stand Up and Bodyboard Cash Prizes: 1st - $1,000 | 2nd -$500 | 3rd-$250
